Since April,NMUhas organizedand heldfourdiscussion meetingsfor the application ofdegree granting unit.Vice President Gao Yuelin attended the meeting. The relevant person-in-charge of Degree Management Office of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region attended the meeting and provided guidance on the work. The person-in-charge of Department of Human Resources, Department of Development Planning and Discipline Construction, Dean’s Office, Department of Scientific Research, Graduate Department, the person in charge of each degree granting unit, and other related staff attended the meeting.
Gao Yuelin emphasized thatpostgraduate education anddegree granting unitapplicationis significantto thelong-term development of our university. Schools with the task of applying for degree granting unit should take the opportunity, constantly strengthen the content development and construction, further integrate resources, condense directions, highlight characteristics, defer to the opinions and suggestions of experts, strive to resolve the key factors which restrict the development of the discipline, perfect the application scheme in accordance with the target, and try our best to improve the work quality of application of master and doctor degree granting unit.
The person-in-charge of each application major reported the general situation of current application work from the aspects of professional characteristics, teaching staff, talent training, scientific research and support conditions. The experts listened to the report of each school, reviewed the declaration materials, and affirmed the solid work each application unit has done on materials preparation, features identification and training scheme. The experts also put forward some valuable suggestions on integration of material highlights, emphasizing professional characteristics, optimizing teachers’qualities, strategy of scientific development, and pointed out the direction for further improvement of the application of degree granting unit.
