On July 3,NingxiaEducationDepartment andFinanceDepartment held a summary andacceptancemeeting for the first phase ofthe"doublefirst-class" construction in Ningxia universities to summarize achievementsand exchangeexperiences of the first phase construction of "double first-class" disciplines, and arrange the deployment of the second phase. Three first-class disciplines of our university participated in the evaluation and acceptance. President Li Junjie, Vice President Gao Yuelin,and the principal heads,disciplineleaders,related staffofDepartment ofDevelopmentPlanning andDisciplineConstruction, Graduate Division, School of Electrical Information Engineering, School of Material Science and Engineering, School of Mathematics and Information Science attended the meeting.
On behalf of theuniversity, Li Junjie made an speech entitled "TakeRootsin Ningxia,Seize theOpportunity of‘DoubleFirst-class’Construction,andComprehensivelyPromote theConnotativeHigh-qualityDevelopment of theUniversity". He pointed out that after more than three years of construction, NMU has achieved remarkable results in the construction of three first-class disciplines: electronic science and technology, mathematics, and material science and engineering. The quality of innovative and top-notch talent training has been significantly improved, the construction of the teaching staff has achieved remarkable results, the level of scientific research has been greatly improved, the ability to serve local areas has continued to increase, and the international exchanges and cooperation have continued to deepen. Driven by the guidance and radiation of first-class disciplines, NMU has achieved historic breakthroughs in discipline construction and degree construction, built a complete talent training system, and the comprehensive strength has reached a new level. He said that the construction of "double first-class" has a long way to go. With the strong support and care of the autonomous region, the university will create "excellent liberal arts, superior science,and characteristicengineering", and strive to strengthen and specialize in the disciplines of ethnology, electronic science and technology, mathematics, material science and engineering. We should strive to form a batch of scientific research achievements that can serve the national strategy and ethnic areas, and make new contributions to the continued construction of a beautiful new Ningxia.
At the meeting, the reportersofthethree first-class disciplinesinelectronic science and technology, mathematics, and material science and engineeringof our university made detailed reportson the achievements and experience summary of the first phase construction of "double first-class", analysis of existing problems, andmain ideas and measures of the second phase construction, and presented the achievements. Through consulting self-evaluation report, listening to on-site reportsand reviewing the construction achievements,the evaluation experts consideredthat the first phase construction of the three "first-class disciplines"has been carried out solidly and the achievements are rich.
The University attaches great importance to the summary work of the first phase construction of first-class disciplines, formulates thesummary implementation plan for the construction of first-class disciplines,consolidates the main responsibilities of each discipline relying on the department, establishes the school expert working group, and holds many summary work meetings, material review meetings, and report meetingsof thefirst-class discipline construction,analyzes the summary and report materials of each discipline one by one, puts forward opinions and suggestions, andcompleted the summary work successfully through continuous condensing and improvement of each discipline.
It is reported that since the construction of the "first-class disciplines", theuniversityhas firmly grasped the correct political direction anduniversityrunning direction, adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating morality, focused on the goals and tasks of various disciplinesconstruction, and has made great achievements in personnel training, team building, scientific researchby careful organization, solid promotion and smooth constructionthrough measures such as system construction, condition guaranteeand degree construction.In the next step, the university will seek development in combination with the actual situation, actively explore a new path for the construction of first-class disciplines, comprehensively promote the connotative high-quality development, and make unremitting efforts to build a high-level modern university fornationalities with characteristics in the new era as soon as possible.
